What You Need to Know

We have been teaching English at Seiwa Jr. and Sr. Girls High School for the last 9 years.  Seiwa school is a very small school, we often call our selves a family. We are truly blessed to be part of this family. We often have opportunities to share the word of God with the students in the Chapel, on Bible camps and in our classes. 

My wife and I have both been through extraordinary challenges in our lives and the grace of God have always delivered us stronger in Christ, more devoted to Christ and in awe of His love. This has given us the tools to truly understand our students, we are blessed to be in their company and to have God in our corner, showing us the way.

My wife (Linda) and I (Johan-Gys) are both from Pretoria, South Africa. We graduated with a degree in education at the University of Pretoria. Soon after graduation we got married and moved to Japan. At first, it was challenging to understand our move to Japan and we were struggling to find our feet. This strange new world with all its unknown twists and turns made it hard, but God's grace, our wonderful colleagues and the church helped us to find our rhythm. After 9 years we still have many challenges, but we can truly see God's hand in our lives every day.
